These are basic measurements and for the most part they work well for violin and cello. For the viola, certain dimensions must be calculated based on the body length of the particular instrument.

My soundposts are usually towards the wider diameter listed. All posts are made from a tree that I cut personally in Switzerland 20 years ago. All stock is split and hand worked to final dimensions.
